Zenyatta Drawing

This is the second drawing that I have done from a photograph by Alex Evers, Equine Photographer from California. 

Zenyatta (20:19-1-0) was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame last year. 

Among her many awards and accomplishments, she was awarded American Horse of the Year in 2010, and in 2009 won the Breeders Cup Classic, racing against the boys. 

Irish War Cry 2017

Irish War Cry Drawing

Irish War Cry is a 3 year old colt bred in New Jersey. He is trained by Graham Motion, and is one of the higher ranked horsed on this years Kentucky Derby Trail. The photo I used for this drawing was taken at Palm Meadows training center in Florida by Grahams wife Anita Motion. Irish War Cry will run in the Wood Memorial Stakes Race on April 8th at Aqueduct, and will be ridden by Rajiv Maragh.

Aqueduct "The Big A" April 5,2017

 Aqueduct Entrance

April 5th, I went to Aqueduct for the first time. Run by the New York Racing Association, "The Big A" was opened in 1894. It is in South Ozone Park, Queens, New York

 Frosted who I drew earlier this year, won the Wood Memorial Stakes in 2015. That race is this coming weekend.

 Although not great for fan photography, I did like the configuration of the Paddock. Recessed from the viewing area, spectators get a great view of the horses walking, being saddled, and ridden up to the track for the post parade.
