 Magic
 Frosty

 Just before Sunset
 Magic at Sunset
Last evening Jacob and I went to my friends farm again to see Magic and Frosty. They were both in the pasture feeding. I dont have experience around horses, and Magic is very aggressive. Quite honestly he really scared me!

Fray Martinez 2016

Fray Martinez Drawing
Over the past Thoroughbred Racing Season at Laurel Park, I have become friends with a couple of the jockeys. I have posted photos and drawing in this blog of Jevian Toledo and Victor Carrasco. They are both from Puerto Rico. One of there good friends was a young jockey, also from Puerto Rico, Fray Martinez. Last summer Fray was riding the tracks of the Mid Atlantic, and during a trip home in December, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Early this month Fray lost his battle, and passed away just hours after his first child, a son was born.
I did this drawing as a tribute to this well loved young man, and as a gift for his buddies Jevian and Victor.

Victor Espinoza and California Chrome 2016

Victor Espinoza and California Chrome Drawing
In 2014, Victor rode "Chromie" and won the first two jewels of the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. He was beaten in the Belmont, the third jewel, after being stepped on coming out of the gates. He was still named 2014 American Three Year Old Horse of the Year, and 2014 Overall American Horse of the Year. 2015 Chromie took most of the year off after a rough start. He returned in 2016, and after winning his the first race off the layoff, was shipped to Dubia to run the 2016 World Cup. He had come in second in the 2015 World Cup race.
On Saturday March 26, 2016 the richest horse race in the world was run in Maydan Dubia. With a ten million dollar purse, the race atracts the top horses from around the world. California Chrome now a five year old, with Victor Espinoza up won the 2016 World Cup.
It was the most excited I ever was watching a horse race!
